Helpful tips
Yoga is best practiced on a mostly empty stomach. Eating beforehand is OK, but I'd avoid eating a large meal just before class. Wear comfortable clothing that has some stretch to it. A fitted shirt works best – loose shirts will ride up when bending over. We practice in bare feet. Avoid strong perfumes, scented lotions or essential oils, as they may be distracting and affect others who are sensitive to smells or have allergies.
About
I started doing yoga in 2005 and was soon hooked on how yoga improved my body image, strength, self esteem and ability to deal with stress. Inspired to help others experience the same, I completed a 200 hour teaching certification at Omaha Yoga & Bodywork Center in 2008.
Most classes I teach are in a slow, flowing style, ending with 5-15 minutes of guided relaxation. My interest in yoga has led me to many workshops, including trainings to teach children's yoga and prenatal. I'm currently working toward my 500 hour certification with Jason Crandell Yoga.
I founded Yankton, South Dakota's premier yoga studio, Soul Story Yoga, in October of 217. Soul Story Yoga is at 215 West 3rd Street in Yankton's Meridian District.
“My first experience with yoga was with Rebecca when I was in college. It was wonderful because as a long-distance runner I felt more limber and able to bounce back from longer runs when I regularly went to her class. Now, several years later, I continue to go to her classes for the variety, strength and flexibility I trust and encounter in the sessions. I highly recommend her as she teaches to all levels — both beginner and experienced. ”

“I've been practicing with Rebecca since 2008, and by being present in her class after a hectic or stressful day, coming to yoga is calming and restorative. Maintaining a fluid range of motion is important to me, and this continues on with my practice with her. ”
